Introducing MaxClass to the world!

It's been several months since we announced the coming of MaxClass to you in a previous international newsletter. MaxClass is the new free communication platform for pupils, parents and teachers. We are delighted to be able to announce that after several months of testing and an initial release, the first 250 classes have been registered and are up and running.

As of today new schools from anywhere in the world are being accepted (for now in English and Dutch, more languages will follow).

MaxClass - connecting the class, home and school

So what is MaxClass? It's a suite of communication apps that make it easy to setup a class and to let pupils/students, parents and teachers communicate with each other. In some cases only teachers and pupils use a class and in some cases MaxClass is used for groups like parent-teacher-associations or training groups. The flexible roles in MaxClass make it easy to setup any relevant group you like.

Whatever the group, MaxClass offers messaging, calendars, discussions, online storage, a class 'wall' and more, making life at school and at home so much easier. MaxClass is unique in the landscape of social media applications as it offers private and safe communication on a classroom level and is designed to fit the roles that you need at school. We will soon be offering more tools (such as real time chat and photo sharing) and later this year MaxClass will offer extra functionality for schools that have become heavy users.

So who developed MaxClass? We're a team in Amsterdam with roots at Mediamatic, Lostboys, ICATT and the Lead Consortium with many years of experience in developing educational systems and social media. We're passionate about developing good technology for education.

New functions

If you followed our initial launch, you might be interested in the new functions our development team has finished.

DOCS:		Our initial beta-tests showed that online storage was needed to be able to share things in the class. Docs makes it possible to store documents privately or share them in the class.
WALL:		Each class offers a 'wall' for sharing short posts and images (more media will follow).
SCHOOL:		This tab makes it easier to find or start other classes in your school. Later this year we wil be releasing more school management features for heavy users.
SEARCH:		As classes are starting to grow, searching needed to be easier. A search feature has been added on several levels.

MaxClass intern nominated for Spin Awards Best Young Talent

We're proud to announce that our very first intern at MaxClass, Yana Zalesskaya has been nominated for the Spin Awards Best Young Talent. Congratulations Yana!

Yana studied International Communication and Management and has helped us research the educational market in several countries. Besides this, she helped with the MaxClass movie on our home page.
