Importing

You can import a CSV file which can be saved from an Excel file. You can simply add information to the example and just start importing from the “Organize members” page. We will show you a summary before the actual importing starts. You can import silently and send invitation to accept the membership later by clicking on “Send reminders”.

N.B. If you want to import several classes you can start in any class or group, e.g. the managers group. You do not have to create the classes before importing.

PLEASE SEND THE CSV OR EXCEL FILE TO SUPPORT AT MAXCLASS.COM AND WE WILL IMPORT IT FOR YOU.

How do I prepare the Microsoft Excel or Open Office Calc) file

Download this Excel sheet. Colors have been used for this instruction.

  1. Open in Excel or Open Office Calc and  (optional) fill in the fields at the top (name of school, your name etc)
  2. Row 3 contains the headers you need. You can add  any field listed below. We have included common ones. You can leave everything empty except the name of the pupil or parent. (at least either first or second name)
  3. You can leave the class name (group_mc) on the left empty and the members will be added to the current class. If you include a class name and it already exists, the members will be added. If the class name is new, the class will be added to the school. If you need to include people in several groups, you just add the person several times and they will be invited several times.
  4. In each row, add a pupil (green fields) and a parent/guardian (purple area).
  5. Add an extra parent/guardian in the next row below the existing parent/guardian.
  6. If you only fill in the names, the members become “Name only” members. If you fill in the e-mail addresses, they can receive an invitation to register or accept the class. You will be asked to import with invitation or silently (and then you and send a reminder later).
  7. Start the import and follow the instructions.
